The day he was awarded the "Premi d'Honor de les Lletres Catalanes" (Prize of Honour of Catalan Literature), he commented : "I thought that this was for other people, that it would never be for me". These words could serve to summarize his professional trajectory of hard work and honest commitment while he was writing an important page in the history of Catalan literary critique. A Professor at the University of Barcelona, Joaquim Molas is also the co-author (together with Josep Maria Castellet) of the anthology "Catalan poetry of the 20th century" (1963), the founder of the magazine "Els Marges" (1973), the editor-coordinator of the volumes on the 19th and 20th centuries of the "Historia de la Literatura Catalana" (History of Catalan Literature), the creator of a school of thought and, above all, a cultural provoker. An edition of his collected works is now being prepared for publishing.
