Humberto Rivas's
vision of the world is a deeply disturbing one. He takes photographs of old, empty
buildings which appear to be destined for imminent demolition. The human figure is absent
from the images produced by this gifted photographer of Argentinian origin, even though we
can see the traces that men have left behind with the passing of time. His pictures of
forlorn street corners convey an all-pervading feeling of emptiness.
