A new sea-front district, linked to the city centre by the Avenida Diagonal, the result of the rehabilitation of the estuary of the River Besōs, the extension of the port and the airport, the arrival of the TAV super-train, new road connections, and telecommunications and cultural amenities... Over the next few years, the transformation of this part of the city, which commenced in the 1980’s, will be completed, with exciting urban developments, open spaces and excellent insfrastructures, enabling Barcelona to meet the challenges of the 21st century, and establish it as one of the leading cities in Southern Europe. B.MM invites you to discover the landscape of this new city to be revealed in 2004 –the year of the International Forum of Cultures–, which will be the subject of an exhibition organized by the Barcelona City Council.
